MontageJS Silicon Valley meetup on Wed, Dec 18
The Silicon Valley MontageJS user group is holding a meeting on Wednesday, December 18. Join us at the FastMac offices in Santa Clara for dinner, drinks, and free MontageJS training. Introductory MontageJS training (ideal for those of you who are new to the framework) will start at 6:30 PM. An advanced training session, which starts at 7:45 PM, will demonstrate how to incorporate 3d graphics into MontageJS applications with WebGL.

A BEM syntax with UX in mind
At some point, while working on the MontageJS framework, the question came up what CSS naming convention we should start using. After a long discussion we settled on using the BEM methodology, but changed the syntax a bit. To keep this post short, I won’t go into detail why using BEM is a good idea, but rather explain why we chose a different syntax. But first let’s look at some examples:

Fixes, fixes, fixes, for preloading, Slider, and tests
Mostly fixes were merged this week: urls that are absolute or are on the `file:// protocol are no longer preloaded, as they are potential x-domain requests. This fixes some errors with Mopped applications.
